200 3D printed pieces take some time to assemble, but we are happy with the final result. This bar was designed for showbusinessnews and sbthechannel for their new studio connecting Miami and Madrid. The interior design of the studio was leaded by Deira Meléndez and Eugenia Posada.
Every component was individually 3d printed, numbered and assembled by hand. The translucent PETG interacts with light in unexpected ways, giving the piece an appearance closer to handcrafted glass than to conventional plastic.
What fascinates us is this contradiction: a highly digital manufacturing process resulting in something that feels almost artisanal. The surface recalls the texture and depth of Murano glass, while the slight variations inherent to additive manufacturing make each of the 200 pieces subtly unique.
Technology provided the precision. Light and material brought the emotion.
